Putting the Me in Resume
The algorithms fueling the digital job market are impersonal and arbitrary. I had to find a different, more effective way to introduce myself and shoot my shot. So I googled how to make a website and here it is.
who I am//what I've done
what I actually did//why it matters
****
Who I am: My name is Sarah Foreman, I'm 34 years old and live in San Mateo, California. I'm an enthusiastic and energetic people person with a natural knack for communications, connecting with others, and learning new things.
What I've done: For the last eight years I was the Senior Coordinator, Member Services at the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, a non-profit medical organization providing education, data reporting, and professional networking for cardiothoracic surgeons worldwide.
What I actually did: Administration, customer service, membership management, recruitment and retention, marketing, sales, and creative collaboration.
Why it matters: With over ten years of professional work experience, a reputable talent for keeping customers and co-workers happy, expert adaptability and a keen sense of self,
I bring a lot to any table.

About Me
communications captain
I graduated from the University of Kansas with Communications major and a minor in Anthropology. My education and professional work experience with diverse groups of people has helped me to continue to evolve my expert communication skills.
A people's person
I like people and people like me. I am relatable, respectful, honest, very funny, and make it a priority to actively listen as much as I talk. I am warm, welcoming, and eager to engage with new people and continue to learn new things.
the quietly creative type
Flexing my creative muscles keeps me connected and current in a world that changes with every blink. Reading, writing, listening to music or podcasts, taking photos, or simply just enjoying time with myself - these are a few examples of the "creative cardio" I do to keep up and stay inspired.
Always learning more
As an older millennial, I appreciate and utilize instant information. The world before the internet or Google meant foraging for information to find answers, taking up valuable time. Now I can learn new things (like how to make this website) in less than a day, continuing to successfully expand my knowledge and skill sets, while helping make me more well rounded personally and professionally.
Beauty really is everywhere
All the cool photos used on this website were taken by me.
